Perserve Your Car

How many times a month do you wash your car? When we first buy a car we wash it sometimes once or twice a week because we want it to look clean and shiny. After all, buying a car is not cheap and we want what we purchased to be eye-catching. Unfortunately, after a few months go by we are not as enthusiastic about washing our car as we once were. Taking time to get your car washed and care for its paint can mean the difference between a shiny 10 year old jewel with original paint and a 3 year old car with premature fading of its paint. This can make a difference in the resale value of your car. Maintain your investment by getting your car washed regularly.

Why Wax Your Car?

Car owners will say they know and understand how important it is to wash and wax their car to protect the paint of the car and for resale value. However, for some reason many wash their only and neglect waxing it.

Wax is important to protecting your car's paint. It is important to protect the paint of your car since it is the protective coating for your cars metal body. You car is in constant subjection  to nature's elements including the rain, sun, hail, and wind.  These are all elements that can have damaging effects to your vehicle which makes waxing your vehicle that much more important. It can also keep dirt from settling on your car, which makes washing it much easier.

Also, you want your car to look shiny and new and wax keeps your car looking shiny and new. With no wax on your car a oxidation can occur. Oxidation is a chemical process which causes oxygen to interact with different elements. This process can cause the paint on your car to dull. No one wants their car to have dull paint! A coat of wax can prevent this from happening because wax protects the elements on the car from reacting with oxygen.

Here at CrossRoads Hand Car Wash we understand the importance of washing and waxing is to keep your car looking shiny and new. Come to CrossRoads Hand Car Wash and we will hand wash and hand wax your vehicle for you!!!

Washing Your Car and the Environment

Few people realize that washing your car in your driveway can negatively affect the environment. What washes away from your car is untreated waste water goes directly into storm drains and eventually into rivers, streams, creeks and wetlands where it pollutes and poisons aquatic life and inflicts other ecosystem mayhem. After all, that water that runs off your car is a loaded a blend of gasoline, oils, greases, and residues from exhaust fumes as well as the harsh detergents and solvents used for the washing itself.

On the other hand, federal laws require car washes are to run their wash and rinse water through a series of clarifiers, This process separates dirt, oil, detergents, and other pollutants from water before it goes into the sewer system and is released into the great outdoors. When washing your car in your driveway, 80 to 140 gallons of water is wasted versus 15 to 25 gallons at a car wash.

Although washing your car at home may be convenient, it is indeed harming our environment. At CrossRoads Hand Car Wash we are an environmentally-friendly car wash.
